FAQ

General Questions:

Why hire a professional photographer?

A professional photographer is not just someone with a good camera. In fact, we have an understanding of light, composition, styling, processing, and editing. We are professionals for a reason – we have experience and dedicate ourselves to the craft. In many instances you may only have one chance to capture an important moment in your life (weddings, maternity, etc.) and you will want the best possible images to cherish forever.

Where are you located?

I’m an on location photographer based in the Florida Keys; however, I service all of South Florida and am always open for a travel adventure!

Where can we take the photos?

(Almost) Anywhere you’d like! If you have a specific place you’d like to have your photo shoot just let me know – we can work it out! Also, if you need a few suggestions or ideas I have plenty of local places I have successfully shot as well!

How much does it cost?

Generally, the factors that determine the price of a photo shoot are:

  • where is the photo shoot? (travel time, distance, etc.)
  • how long is the photo shoot going to be? (a quick 1 hour portrait session vs. full service wedding?)

I spend a large amount of my time editing your images! Honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of our session because this is when the photo’s truly come to life!

Please contact me directly for pricing.

How long will it take to get the images?

Portrait sessions are typically edited within 2-3 weeks and weddings within 4-6 weeks.

How many photos will we get?

This is a hard question to answer but it can typically be assumed that the longer your photo shoot the more great images we will have to choose from! It also depends on the nature of the photo shoot. As an example I find that I tend to get around 25-50 images an hour doing couple photography.

Can we make copies of the photos?

Absolutely, it is encouraged! I provide an online collection of your edited images for you to view, download, share, and order prints directly. I work with a full service professional print company (WHCC.com) to ensure your images are handled with care. You are also free to get prints done by your favorite professional company at your leisure.

What if we need an additional copy of the photos later on?

No problem, your gallery is accessible for a year and I’m happy to help in situations past this time frame!

What equipment do you use?

A big part of professional photography is having quality equipment and understanding how to use it! I use Canon bodies and a variety of L series lenses! I always try to utilize natural light but also have speed lights and additional lighting if needed.

What if I have a bruise or blemish before my shoot?

No need to worry! I edit all of my images and utilize programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to clear up these types of blemishes! Just relax and enjoy the photo shoot – I will take care of the rest.

Wedding, Engagement, Family, Portrait Questions:

I saw a cute picture in a magazine. Can we recreate it?

I always ask that my clients try not to compare themselves to people in magazines but rather look at the details of the image. Is there a certain pose that you like? Is there a prop that you would like to incorporate? In these cases we can absolutely apply these types of detail to your shoot! Resources such as magazines, blogs, Pinterest, Facebook, etc. can be a great place to look if you need ideas – so please, let me know if there is something specific you would like to try!

Can we bring our own props to the shoot?

Certainly! I love creating a special world for each photo shoot. If you have specific props that you have purchased or made, bring them along!

What should we wear for the shoot?

I always suggest that my clients wear clothes that reflect their style but aren’t too trendy! You certainly don’t want to look back in 10 or 20 years and think, “What was I wearing!?”. Being comfortable is also very important – as this will be reflected in your images! Bringing multiple outfits is also a great way to express your style and allow for diversity in the shoot.

What time of day is best for photographing?

The best time of day is always in the morning and in the evening – the lighting is spectacular and it tends to be a little cooler! I always try to set up photo shoots that are going to be outside during these times if possible!

Maternity Questions:

When is the best time to do maternity shots?

Typically at the end of the second trimester or beginning of the third. This tends to be when momma feels great, still fits into the cutest of clothes, and the belly is in show! Every woman is different and I am willing to work around whatever feels right for you!
